Wedge Networks Unveils "Agentic AI Trust Infrastructure" Strategy at COMPUTEX 2026: Achieving 6x Efficiency on Edge Devices
As the global technology industry pivots from Generative AI to autonomous, agentic AI workflows, the battleground for cybersecurity is shifting to the network edge. Leading this transition is Wedge Networks, a Canada-based pioneer in high-performance network security, which today detailed its strategic roadmap ahead of COMPUTEX 2026.
In an exclusive interview, Wedge Networks CEO and Co-founder Dr. Hongwen Zhang outlined the company’s evolution from a hardware-dependent solution to a software-defined, AI-driven architecture specifically designed to protect the next generation of autonomous industrial and financial systems.
From Supply Chain Resilience to Software Sovereignty
Founded in 2002 by Dr. Zhang and his Ph.D. classmate, Dr. Husam Kinawi, Wedge Networks initially built its reputation in the North American and Japanese markets through hardware-bundled security with a single partner. However, the 2021 global supply chain crisis served as a pivotal turning point.
“During the pandemic, supply chain disruptions meant we couldn’t fulfill orders because we lacked the physical hardware,” Dr. Zhang explained. “That was our initiative to transition toward a Software Defined solution. Today, we focus on high-end software—AI for security and security for AI—allowing us to partner with many hardware giants to reach broader markets.”
The “Agentic AI Trust Infrastructure” Era: Protecting the Autonomous Workflow
While many firms focus on using AI to detect traditional malware, Dr. Zhang highlighted a more insidious threat: Semantic Manipulation. As industries adopt “Agentic AI” – AI agents that operate autonomously in banks, government offices, and smart factories – attackers are now targeting the AI’s judgment itself.
“Advanced attacks can now manipulate AI decision-making to steal data or force autonomous systems into harmful actions,” Dr. Zhang warned.
To combat this, Wedge is introducing the Wedge Secure Agent at COMPUTEX 2026. Part of the broader Wedge Secure Platform suite, the solution utilizes Semantic Calculation for Security, a method that uses Large Language Models (LLMs) to detect minute deviations in an AI agent’s logic across its entire workflow – from sensor input to physical action.
Strategic Partnerships: The Power of the Taiwan Ecosystem
Wedge Networks’ growth is deeply intertwined with Taiwan’s hardware prowess. The company has announced a tripartite collaboration with Intel and Industrial PC (IPC) leader Advantech, as well as ongoing partnerships with Lanner Electronics and Edgecore Networks.
A key technical breakthrough of this collaboration is the ability to run complex AI inference directly on CPUs rather than relying on expensive, power-hungry GPUs.
“In the edge environment, power and space are at a premium. We’ve optimized our algorithms using Intel’s architecture to achieve at least a 600% (6x) improvement in efficiency compared to standard benchmarks,” Dr. Zhang stated.
This efficiency allows Wedge to offer “Sovereign AI” solutions – keeping data processing local to satisfy the strict privacy and compliance requirements (such as SOC 2) often found in the semiconductor and critical infrastructure sectors.
Raising Series A for Global Expansion
As Wedge Networks prepares for its showcase at InnoVex and COMPUTEX and participates in the new product release with its strategic partners, the company is also looking toward its next phase of growth. Dr. Zhang confirmed that the company is currently engaging with Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) and professional investors for its Series A financing round.
“We are moving from networking security to protecting Cyber-Physical Systems,” Dr. Zhang concluded. “Whether it’s ensuring the non-stop production of a semiconductor fab or protecting the privacy of remote-serviced smart devices, our goal is to provide the critical defense for the autonomous workflows that will define the next decade.”
